How to tie a head scarf: Rose band.

It has been ages since I have blogged & I am so sorry about that!! First there was Christmas and then a lot of personal drama and shenanigans, but I am back and ready to roll. So I hope you are all well and have had a good start to 2013.

Todays blog is going to be a 'how to' rather than a wedding type one. Hope you enjoy, I'm sorry the pictures aren't very good quality. I had to use my web cam as I wasn't able to find my camera!

I recently purchased a square imitation silk scarf from e-bay for £1.75. There are loads of different colours & patterns available but I went for a black & white animal print so I could match it with virtually any outfit. Once I received it I very quickly got to trying out different ways of styling the scarf on my head and this is the one I like the most: Rose Band

This is a picture of me wearing my Rose band.

To do this you will need a square silk scarf. As mentioned above I purchased mine from ebay. It is 58x58cm which is fine for me, but if your head is large or you have very thick hair, or even if you want to be able to use the scarf to tie the band in a bow at some point then you will need a much larger scarf.

Step 1) Take corners A & C. Tie them in a double knot like so -

Step 2) Take corners B & D. Twist them around each other like so -

Step 3) Place the knot on top of the twisted corners like so -

Step 4) Holding the twisted corners (B&D) with the knot resting on top, pull B&D in opposite directions quickly. In the middle the material will bunch in to flower/rose arrangement like so -

Step 5) Position the rose on your head and tie the ends at the back of your head. Position the ribbon as you want it and hey presto! Rose Band Complete

My next blog is either going to be Wedding Favours or Wedding Cakes, but let me know if you want something entirely different and let me know your feed back on this little "How to". Did you like it? Would you prefer a more detailed explanation or a video maybe? Feedback welcomed.

Thanks for reading!
